MSCJ Source Code Coalition
The Minnesota Intoxilyzer 5000 Source Code litigation effort was led by the MSCJ Source Code Coalition, described here. This litigation is now over in Minnesota, since the State of Minnesota has dropped the Intoxilyzer 5000 infrared breath machine, and now gone to another machine, in the early 2010s. This page is supplied for historical value:
These Minnesota DWI Defense Lawyers are members of the MSCJ Source Code Coalition. If a Minnesota lawyer is not listed here, it is likely they are not defending their DWI clients with the Source Code issue! (The list is updated normally within a week of lawyer joining. Please review and notify us if any corrections are required.)
Coalition MembersHIP
Members of the MSCJ Source Code Coalition are entitled to the final report generated from the MSCJ team of experts’ analysis of the Intoxilyzer 5000EN source code.
Coalition Members include:
- Members of the Minnesota Society for Criminal Justice (MSCJ). MSCJ Membership Directory. Their names are on the list below as well.
- All of the other private Minnesota DWI Defense Attorneys who have joined the Coalition, as indicated by being named on the list below.
- All full-time and part-time Minnesota public defenders are part of the Coalition for cases in which they have been appointed. (Public defenders that also practice privately are not part of the coalition for their private cases, unless listed by name below.)
The Minnesota Society for Criminal Justice (MSCJ) is a Minnesota non-profit criminal defense lawyers bar association. MSCJ has taken a leadership role over the years in Intoxilyzer 5000 computer source code discovery litigation, as have many individual members. Now that courts are ordering Minnesota and CMI to provide the accused meaningful access to the machine’s source code, MSCJ has again taken a leadership role by forming a coalition of Minnesota defense attorneys (including those who are not members of MSCJ itself) to share the costs and the benefits of computer software and infrared breath-alcohol machine experts and their findings.
